This is where your trip begins. Pick up the camper van, pack everything safely for little ones, and set off in a relaxed way on the short drive into the countryside.
A peacefully located site right on the shallow Wolziger See, ideal for settling into camper van life close to Berlin. The shoreline slopes gently, so your child can safely paddle about in knee-deep water. On the first evening you'll barely need to drive, yet you'll already have arrived by the water.

Rest and water
A pure rest day with no change of location.
Keep a sun canopy and sun cream ready for the three-year-old, as the shoreline offers little shade.
Short leg into the Lake District
The longest drive of the trip, but still well within the daily limit of three hours.
Arrival in the afternoon, followed by a relaxed swim and setting up camp.
The site sits on the large but shallow-shored Plauer See, right in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District. A natural bathing beach with a gentle entry invites you to splash about, and the small island town of Malchow is easy to reach. After the drive, there's plenty of time left for a relaxed afternoon by the water.

Island town and water
Just a short outing in the morning, with the afternoon free for swimming.
The swing bridge is a highlight for little ones; opening times are posted at the jetty.
Malchow sits picturesquely on an island in the lake, with a historic swing bridge that opens every half hour. The old town is small and easy to explore on foot with a pushchair, and there are ice cream parlours right by the water. With the panel van, it's best to park at ground level on the edge of town, as underground car parks are too low.
The biggest lake and a national park
A very short leg, leaving the afternoon free to arrive and swim.
Waren can be reached on foot or by bike from the site.
Campingplatz Ecktannen lies right on the shore of Lake Müritz and on the edge of the Müritz National Park. A shallow sandy beach and a large playground make it a pleasant spot for families with small children. From here, you'll set off the next day for a walk and some wildlife spotting.

Animals and underwater worlds
Museum in the morning, before it gets too warm, then time by the water in the afternoon.
The Müritzeum is indoors, making it a good plan for rainy weather.
The Müritzeum is a modern nature discovery centre home to the largest freshwater aquarium in Germany. Children marvel at native fish, a walk-through forest world and interactive stations, making it a great option even in changeable weather. In front of the building lies a lovely park by the Herrensee for letting off steam.
In the afternoon, head back to the shore of Lake Müritz for another swim in the shallow water. The day winds down quietly on the beach.
Clear water and forest
A leg of under two hours, with a play break along the way.
The third lake of the trip, with short distances between them as planned.
The Feldberg Lake District is known for its particularly clear, calm lakes set within a nature park. The site sits close to the water in a natural setting, with a gentle entry and plenty of forest around for short, shady walks. A great place to get to know yet another, quieter lake in the region.

Nature and animals
A short walk in the morning, followed by rest and time by the water.
Pack sturdy shoes and water, as the path is unpaved.
A short, easy-to-walk nature trail through old beech forest between the lakes, well suited to little legs. Along the way there are viewpoints over the clear water and shady rest spots. The route can easily be shortened if the three-year-old gets tired.
The last lake day ends once more by the calm shore. Swimming, splashing and an early evening before the drive back.
A relaxed journey home
The return leg is deliberately planned with an optional stop, so the drive doesn't have to be done in one go.
If you skip the wildlife park, you'll be home directly in just over two hours.
To round things off, a short stop at a wildlife park along the way is well worth it, letting you see deer, wild boar and wolves up close. If your little one is tired, you can leave out this stop and drive straight home. When choosing car parks, look out for level surfaces with no height restrictions.
